Specialisation and expertise: A long-time journalist with medical background, I have served as program communication officer and consultant for Communication for Development (C4D) at UNICEF Indonesia. With two decades of international experience in business management, government and public relations, education / training, and media, I have broadened my views on socio-political, health, economic and development trends and issues through works in non-profit organizations such as Australia AID, and Germany’s Particip GmbH. Formerly acted as Director for Marketing & Public Relations in a private university in Jakarta, I gained MA in Journalism from University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia. My journalistic background in Australia and Indonesia has been enriched, for instance, by leadership experience when acting as the Branch Development head of Indonesian Public Relations Association.

Specialisation and expertise: Dr. Comes’ research focuses on decision-making and information technology for resilience and disaster management. Solidly rooted in this direction, she conducts research on using information and smart technology for better decisions and coordination in complex, volatile and uncertain environments. Grounded in this orientation, she has conducted research with stakeholders and decision-makers in private companies, public authorities and international organizations. This perspective on decision making, resilience and humanitarian response is reflected in more than 100 publications.
